Celebrating International Day of People with Disability, Perception is the annual visual arts showcase exhibition showing works by Canberra artists living with disability and disadvantage. This huge showcase breaks down barriers and challenges perceptions about disability. Don't miss a performance by our very own CDTeens on Friday 2 December at the Perception Gala. with guest speakers Minister Burch and Professor Colin Rhodes (Sydney College of the Arts), the launch of a new children’s book celebrating difference, and a dynamic entertainment program with a variety of music, dance and theatre works. Four GOLD performers will join the cast along with the Burlesque class into a foray into dance history in the 1920's and 30's. Inspired by Anna Pavlova, Annette Kellerman and the bondi beach lifesavers, this work is backed by archival film from the National Film and Sound Archive and images form the National Gallery of Australia images of the Ballet Russes.
