Moove & Groove Week!
1 - 7 August 2010
Put on your dancing shoes and Move and Groove to help prevent osteoporosis! Move and Groove Dance Classes will run from 1-7 August 2010, to coincide with National Healthy Bones Week.
Classes offer access to a wide range of dancing styles and venues in Canberra for people at all levels of experience. Classes are available for people of differing ages and level of ability.
Physical activity, especially when using resistance, increases bone strength and reduces the risk of osteoporosis occurring. It’s recommended to perform strength exercises 2-3 days per week for 20-40 minutes using large muscle groups. Dancing is a fantastic form of exercise, also a great way to socialise and have fun.
All proceeds from the Move and Groove fundraiser go to the Aged Care and Rehabilitation Service. Funds will be used to purchase new physiotherapy equipment for the people of Canberra and our surrounding regions to get back into the swing of things.
